Surrender by Amy Daws is now LIVE!! 5 Stars!!
Disclaimer: I know I am supposed to be reviewing Surrender, but I have read all 5 of these books over the past 2 weeks and I am over the moon about them all! This review is kind of going to be a review for a little bit of all thing Harris and Amy Daws, so please be prepared for a lot of fangirling :) #HarrisHoForLife
I first discovered Amy Daws through her Instagram stories while she sat in Tires, Tires, Tires writing this dude named Gareth's story. I had no idea who Gareth was, but I thought she was hilarious and so I put the first book in the Harris Brothers Series in my Kindle Unlimited library and there it sat. Then, I was lucky enough to get a copy of the audiobook of her book that was loosely based on her days at TTT, Wait For Me. That book was funny, hot, and I related to both of the characters so that book brought my attention back to this lady from South Dakota who could definitely write.
Cut to 2 weeks ago when I saw she was having a read-along of the first 3 books in the Harris Brothers series, so I had a little time in between ARCs and I figured why not. I am a huge fan of sports romances and the World Cup was going on, so why not?
Guys. I got sucked down a British rabbit hole and I am just now coming up for air! I started with Challenge, which is Camden Harris' story. He is a cocky footy player that gets injured and has to be be brought in to the hospital. There he meets Indie, an ortho doctor with big red hair and who wears glasses to fit her mood. Cam made my heart melt along with my panties. 5 huge stars!
Next I moved on to Endurance, which is about Camden's twin brother, Tanner Harris. Guys, this dude is wild from the get go. He ends up having to call for a ride after getting kicked out of a girl's apartment...naked. The person who comes to pick him up is Indie's best friend, Belle. She's also a doctor, like Indie, but she has sass for yeaaarrs. Her and Tanner bicker; she thinks he rejected her a while back and he just thinks she doesn't like him because that's just her personality. Turns out there's a lot more to Tanner and all that bickering makes for great foreplay!
Then it was time for baby Booker Harris. He is the keeper on the same professional football team Tanner plays for. He might be the baby of the family, but he's definitely been affected by the family dynamic and is finally about to live somewhere that doesn't have any of his family under the roof. When he asks his childhood best friend, Poppy, to move in with him temporarily while she waits for her own apartment to be ready, he has no idea what he has just put into motion. Booker is the sweetest of the brothers (in my opinion) and also the most stubborn. It takes a while, but that ending! Gah! Cue the waterworks!!
Finally, it's time to review Surrender, which is Gareth Harris' story. Gareth has been a little bit of a mystery in the previous books. He lives in a different city, plays for a different team and as the oldest of the siblings, he remembers their childhood the most. I went into this thinking Gareth would be cold, strict, and a really tough nut to crack. Oh, how I was so pleasantly surprised! Nothing about this story was anything I expected and that just made it that much better. His reaction to something that happens in this book melted my heart and made me fall in love with this complicated man! He is full of surprises and man, do they keep coming in this book. The next book in this duet comes out on August 2nd and I'm already chomping at the bit to read it!
All of these books were 5 stars for me because of how relatable the women were in these stories and how they were not pushovers. The men weren't afraid to feel (mostly...well, eventually for some of them lol) and they definitely weren't afraid to show their family pride. The Harris family sticks together; they are each others' ride or die people and that is great to see. The best part is these books are all in Kindle Unlimited so you won't have to spend a million dollars to catch up!
Okay, wait - that's not the best part. The best parts are these guys and how hot they are. That's the best part of these books ;) So if you will excuse me, I now need to go read the short story that Amy Daws wrote for the Cocky Collective anthology that has Harris brothers in it. They are like crack, I can't get enough! (Except I don't want crack, I just want a Harris brother :)
