TOP 9 READS OF 2017

Image
TOP 9 READS OF 2017 2017 comes to a close tonight and I always get excited for the new year because it means new books! I love looking back on all the books I've read during the year (the good and the bad) and seeing what I've accomplished. I usually set a Goodreads yearly goal, but only because I enjoy the scheduling of it. I totally understand that a lot of readers don't like to be on a schedule. Every body is different and that is A-OK with me :) I chose a top 9 books this year because it fit best in the picture and even if I would have had to pick 20 top reads, it would have been hard, so 9 it is! First up, in no particular order: ➤ Before I Ever Met You by Karina Halle. I loved this book because it had a single mom as the heroine (which I can relate to) and an older man who was just the best, hottest, holy crap-on-a-cracker leading male. Will is one of my favorite book boyfriends EVER and I loved everything about this love story. It starts with a punch to t...

SYNOPSIS:  A NEW STANDALONE CONTEMPORARY ROMANCE. She's bad at love, but he's even worse... Marina is hot, blonde, and wickedly smart, but when it comes to men? She's hopeless. Between her quirks and her lack of filter, there isn't a man in Los Angeles that will stick around after the third date. Her handsome, charming friend Lazarus has the opposite problem. Everyone wants to be his girlfriend, but he gets bored and moves on quickly. There's only one way to figure out why neither of them has cracked this love thing-- they'll date each other. On paper, it's the perfect experiment. But in reality, things between Marina and Laz get complicated quickly. They might be bad at love, but they are even worse at being friends.     REVIEW: 5 STARS THIS BOOK WAS SO GOOD!!! I didn't think any man would ever compete with Will McAlister from Before I Ever Met You. He was my dream man and I loved him so much that I thought no man (real or fiction...

NOW LIVE!! MY WEEK WITH THE BAD BOY - 5 STARS!

Image
SYNOPSIS:  Never trust a man who answers the front door wearing nothing more than a pair of low-cut jeans and a panty-melting smirk. That should’ve been my first sign. I write about guys just like him for a living—sexy and charming, yet reluctant to get into a serious relationship. His body screams sex appeal, but his condescending personality makes him a classic fuckboy. And I want nothing to do with that. Writing romance novels comes with its perks—traveling, meeting new people, creating characters from the voices in my head—but Ethan Rochester enters my life and rearranges all my preconceived notions about writing what inspires you. One week is all it took. One week to realize that not everything is as it seems. One week with the bad boy, and I wanted more. REVIEW: The two ladies who brought you the Kennedy Fox Checkmate Series have done it again! Vada is an author who rents a quaint cottage in Charleston because she's got a massive case of writer's block and sh...

NOW LIVE!! Lost Before You by Brooke O'Brien - 5 STARS!!

Image
SYNOPSIS:  I wish someone would’ve warned me about the dangers of falling in love with your best friend. I was no stranger to covering up my problems with meaningless sex and alcohol. When Brea asked me for one night to help her forget, I craved being the man she needed. . Just sex. . No commitment. . Then she begged me to promise her nothing would change between us. I couldn’t bring myself to lie to her. . One night. . One broken promise. I will never forget the night I fell in love with my best friend, and now nothing will ever be the same. REVIEW: I didn't think it could get any better than Callum Reid, but I just hadn't met his brother Mason yet! I loved Mason SO HARD! He was just perfection and the best "friend" a girl could ask for *wink, wink* and the whole story kept me on the edge of my Kindle because I wasn't sure which direction the author was going to take. I loved the not knowing and it really kept me interested in the story. ...

Review of Maverick by Karina Halle - 5 STARS!!

Image
NOW LIVE!! SYNOPSIS: Forget playing it safe. John “ Maverick ” Nelson likes to live his life on the edge – literally. A crucial member of the search and rescue team in the mountainous British Columbian town of North Ridge, Maverick ’s brash and bold attitude means he’s the first one to ascend into danger, no matter the risk. When it comes to women, though, Maverick errs on the side of caution. For all his cocky charm, rugged good looks and sexual swagger, he remains as unreachable as the surrounding peaks. Hot, wild sex? He’ll tell you there’s no better way to spend a cold, wintry night. Relationships? He’d rather freeze. That is until he lays his eyes on American Riley Clarke. Trading in the crippling expenses of Aspen for BC, Riley is North Ridge’s newest member of their search and rescue team and the only woman on the job, which means spending a lot of time with Mav in adrenaline-pumping situations. With the chemistry between them hot enough to melt snow...

Possession by A.M. Johnson - Review!

Image
Can I just say, I love it when I find a new author? I received copies of two of A.M. Johnson's novels in the Avenue Ink series, Possession and Kingdom. These were Audible copies and I was pumped because audio has become my new favorite reading medium. I can do laundry, drive my kid places, and do pretty much everything, all while getting the same fantastic story. I am so glad this author chose me to receive copies of her books because they are my new obsession.  BLURB : Paige Simon was the only girl Declan ever loved. The only one capable of silencing his voices, the only person to ever have faith in who he was, until the day her faith turned to doubt and destroyed everything they’d made together. Declan O ’Connell was the only person Paige could be herself with. The only one she could rely on, until the day she was forced to make a choice that would condemn them both. They’ve had years apart, and second chances don’t belong to the damned. But when you come face to...

My First Post!

Hello fellow book lovers! I'm finally getting off my lazy butt and creating a blog to talk books, audiobooks, book nerd stuff, and occasionally music. I've been part of the Bookstagram community since 2015 and I absolutely love it! The whole book community is comprised of some pretty rad people and I'm happy to consider myself part of that crowd! (My username over there is @bookobsessed77, feel free to check out my feed!)  The whole blogging thing is new to me, but I love to talk books and figured this is my next step. I have seen some absolutely fabulous blogs and if I'm half as good as they are, I will be happy. Ashlee at Night Owl Reads and Sarah and Lauren at Inked In Chapters, so if you've never checked those ladies out, go now! I will pretty much read anything. This includes New Adult, Romance, Historical Romance, Sci-Fi, YA, paranormal romance, etc. One of my favorite series is pictured above, After by Anna Todd. This series is hot and cold d...
