Synopsis:

Review:


I'm so sad this is the last book in the North Ridge series. I've come to know this family and love them. This book tells Fox and Delilah's story, but we also get to enjoy the other Nelson brothers and their ladies as well. In fact, I liked Shane a lot better in this book than I did in Wild Card. (I have no idea why, maybe he was more chill since he wasn't stressing out?)

Fox is probably the most frustrating of all the Nelson brothers. He is his own worst enemy in many different ways for different reasons. He doesn't know love when it's staring him right in the face and God, did I feel for Del. She gave a lot with not a lot in return for many years because she has loved Fox since they were kids.

Fox's story was heartbreaking because things that happened when he was a child were still affecting his life and his relationships in a negative way, but sometimes you have to burn it all down in order to start over fresh. That was my big takeaway from this book. Fox was somewhat of a hot mess in his life and I wanted to just shake him and tell him "Get it together man!," but this story played out like it might in a real life situation with some definite real-life problems that many people have.

I was really happy with how this series of standalone romances turned out. Karina just has a way of writing relationships that puts me in another world for a while and lets me live vicariously through various characters. If you haven't read any of her other books, you need to get on that!
